Acre is thrilled to partner with Rolls Royce Power Systems to identify a new Director of Market and Competitive Intelligence.

This role doesn't require to be in the office often and is based in Southern Germany.

Rolls Royce Power Systems delivers and services powerful and reliable systems to marine infrastructure sectors, based on both gas and diesel engines as well as electrified hybrid systems. They provide world-class power solutions under their product and solution brand, MTU, which are cleaner and smarter, meeting the growing societal demands for energy and mobility.

This new Director of Market and Competitive Intelligence role is a great opportunity to lead on research and analysis in an exciting and emerging space. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading, driving and independently managing Rolls Royce Power Systems' proprietary perspective on markets and competitive environment for the 10+ industries they serve

  • Providing market guidance for the development of the company's larger strategic agenda, with a focus on the transformation into the renewable energy space

  • Serving as the go-to-person for market data, market indicator data and competitor information in daily business, for standard reporting, strategic planning, key projects, or ad hoc leadership requests

  • Guiding a strong and experienced team of market and competitive experts

  • Developing existing Competitive Intelligence resources further and building up a clear perspective for Sustainable Power Solutions

  • Identifying key business / market indices, and policy developments that drive the business to anticipate major market trends and their implications early on

  • Regularly publishing, presenting, and communicating insights of key developments within markets and competitive environment

  • Owning and managing reporting and communication to a broad set of audiences both internally and externally

This person will be an experienced research professional with strong communication skills in international environments. They will have:

  • 10+ years of work experience within Research or Business Development, with proven track-record of building and managing a team of professionals, ideally gained in environmental / sustainable consulting, data analysis professional services or equivalent in-house role

  • Deep understanding business models in the Energy space, especially renewables on a global scale combined with high curiosity and passion

  • Highly knowledgeable about key sources of information for financial and macro-economic data as well as competitor data and how to distil insights from them

  • Strong academics, engineering background or solid technical understanding beneficial combined with experience in a macro driven environment

  • Expert understanding of complex business and financial modelling, with the ability to manage a team of experts

  • Both German and English language skills would be ideal
