The Copper Mark is the leading assurance framework for copper, molybdenum, nickel, and zinc, enabling a sustainable society through the responsible production, sourcing, and recycling of these metals.
To achieve this vision, The Copper Mark is accelerating the development of a full value chain approach that will connect companies, stakeholders, and consumers, ensuring responsible practices across the supply chain.
The Copper Mark is also working with the Mining Association of Canada, ICMM and the World Gold Council towards consolidating their individual voluntary responsible mining and metals standards into a single global responsible mining standard, and multi-stakeholder oversight system.
The goal of this initiative is to simplify the current mining standards landscape and promote continual improvement of environmental, social and governance practices across metal and mineral value chains - from mining to smelting, refining and beyond.
It is the intention that The Copper Mark, including its Board, will transition and evolve into the entity overseeing the Standard and implementation of the related assurance process, grievance mechanism and claims policy, as well as a platform for public disclosure of information such as outcomes of assurance.
The Copper Mark seeks to hire an experienced Organizational Change Manager to manage this transition. This position reports to the Executive Director.
In this role, you will lead on:
Developing a transition plan covering all aspects of the organization and including the timelines, costs and tasks necessary to support a smooth transition, identification of potential problems and risks, and KPIs.
Proactively, and on an ongoing basis, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the understanding of, buy-in for, and execution of the transition plan, working closely with the internal team, board, and partner organisations.
Implementing the transition plan, including the preparation of required reports to the Copper Mark and partner organizations' governance bodies.
Identifying the skills necessary to enable a smooth transition and work with the Executive Director to close gaps in this regard through training or contracting.
Assessing the impact of the transition on the business at regular intervals and adjust as appropriate.
Supporting the Executive Director with administrative, program management and any other tasks as required.
You will bring:
Significant experience working in organizational change management.
Outstanding communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively engage, influence and build agreement with stakeholders from different cultures and backgrounds.
Knowledge of voluntary initiatives, standards and/or assurance framework organizations, ideally in the minerals and metals industries.
Ability to influence without authority, working on and with technical, cross-functional, or diverse stakeholders to complete projects.
Excellent project management skills and the ability to deliver highest quality deliverables with keen attention to detail.
A "can do" attitude, focused on delivery in a small, start-up-like environment, is essential for this role.
Knowledge of minerals and metals production and supply chains.
The position is based remotely and reports to The Copper Mark Executive Director. The position requires significant time zone overlap Europe, and good overlap with North and Latin America.
This is a great opportunity to play a leading role delivering a vision for a full life-cycle approach to metals and minerals production that promotes positive contributions to society, addresses its impacts on people and the environment, and supports progress to a circular economy.
