Podback is a not-for-profit organisation which is the UK's first cross-industry collaboration of its kind within the coffee sector designed to make recycling coffee pods as easy as it is to make pod coffee. The biggest names in coffee pod systems, Nespresso, NESCAFE Dolce Gusto and Tassimo, came together to create Podback and since launching earlier this year Podback has continued driving their mission to create a world where every coffee pod enjoyed is recycled.

As Podback continue to scale, their next hire is for two Partnership Development Managers who will engage with a wide range of external stakeholders and help develop and build relationships for this exciting not-for-profit initiative. You will be working closely with the Executive Director and be an integral part of developing partnerships with organisations who can develop takeback infrastructure and design new collection systems, enabling Podback to become more easily accessible to consumers and massively increase their offering in the next year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship building: Identify, build, and maintain excellent relationships both within the business and with external stakeholders.

  • Developing Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of, not only the product, but also the challenges that face a business such as Podback. Learning how to manage different stakeholders and their approach.

  • Outreach & Networking: Becoming a true advocate for the company and representing Podback at networking events and conferences. Growing the profile of the company by building effective relationships and delivering on objectives.

  • Budgeting: Being able to work within agreed budgets and working in the most cost-effective way, whilst maintain high performance.

As the Partnership Development Manager, you will have the ability to model and cost different collection systems, as well as the following approach and experience:

  • Proactive and Entrepreneurial: Having an approach that will be proactive in speaking with stakeholders across local authorities, waste management companies and community businesses. The ability to work self-sufficiently. The slate is clean. This role will provide you the platform to progress the way you build it.

  • Natural Collaboration: You'll be able to lead and effectively manage clients from different sector backgrounds as well as collaborate with people on different levels within these companies

  • Effective Communications: To be able to effectively communicate with all levels of staff both within the business and externally. Having clear and concise messaging about the product.
