What are your ambitions?

We don't mind going first... We're commercially minded, but we want to make an impact. We want brighter futures for all; our clients, society and the environment. We want a world that's safe, ethical, inclusive and sustainable. From time to time, people hear that and say, "That sounds like a nice ambition." But what we do and what we stand for isn't nice; it's urgent and it's important.

After all, sustainability and climate change are at the forefront of everyone's mind. Greta Thunberg and Sir David Attenborough are amplifying the message to the masses: The planet urgently needs us to change our ways. How are we going to fix it without the right people finding the right solutions?

Heightened governmental and consumer pressure means that businesses need to make big changes. So, more and more, organisations require sustainability-minded employees, for every role, in each department and skill set.

We live our ambitions by specialising in finding those people - those who will go on to empower their organisations to meet net zero, cut carbon emissions, finance essential infrastructure projects and create the innovative technologies required to build a brighter future for us all.

So, what about you - what are your ambitions?

If you're ambitious to contribute to the growth and development of a rapidly evolving company at the forefront of sustainable change; you're in the right place. We live by our values, and we are driven by our shared vision, so you should know that we're passionate about developing our people and our culture to align with our organisational goals.

We have an entire Performance & Development team dedicated to ensuring that amid all of the exciting change happening in our business and in our markets, our people always have the support, resources and skills needed to be confident and effective in their roles.

Right now, we're looking for a Learning & Development Manager to join our fast-growing Amsterdam office and to support our Global Performance Director - both strategically and operationally - to help identify and address recruitment training needs in our team, and manage performance with the aim of enabling sustainable behaviour change that will allow our staff to thrive.

If this sounds like you, let's tell you a bit more about it.

We're a global recruitment business operating in the sustainability and climate change sectors. This explains a little about why we're so busy - everyone is looking to tackle these problems head-on right now, but also need a recruitment partner that's well versed in these markets. Fortunately, we've been doing this a long time - for almost twenty years - so we know what our clients are looking to achieve and the solutions that will get them there.

In terms of your location, you'll be based out of our Amsterdam office. We're more than happy to support you with flexible work arrangements, but we would need you to be able to get into our office fairly regularly.

What can you expect to do in this role?

Training:

From onboarding to ongoing development support, you'll be a key business partner across our teams. You'll contribute to the development and maintenance of internal training programmes, which includes recruitment theory and practice, advanced recruitment skills, management training and general non-technical upskilling. This will come in the form of both one-to-one coaching and group level support.

You will also identify and collaborate with external training partners for the provision of leadership, executive coaching and non-recruitment training for operational team members.

Performance:

You will partner with our leadership team to understand individual and team performance expectations, and continuously monitor performance against them with an open dialogue, presenting opportunities for training and development. You'll also close the loop between wellbeing, engagement, motivation, development and performance. This includes monitoring and sharing accountability for continuous development and progression towards team members' development goals.

Wellbeing:

The well being of our employees is of utmost importance to us, and we'd love it if you could help us continue to prioritise it. You'll help us create forums for discussion on productive wellbeing practices and you'll take accountability for recommending areas where we can improve - no matter how big or small. You'll also champion wellbeing on behalf of your colleagues, raising any concerns you may identify during your work and helping role model best practice.

Project Management:

Project management is an integral part of what you'll do, so we need you to be proactive, organised and driven. Where required, you'll manage, contribute to and undertake key company projects with a collaborative approach.

In terms of soft skills, we're looking for someone who:

  • Has values that align closely with ours; integrity, innovation and collaboration

  • Is passionate about holistic development and builds trusting relationships based on transparency and openness

  • Can flex between working at an individual, team and organisational level

  • Has a growth mindset - especially when faced with challenges and setbacks

  • Is excited by the thought of working in a global, fast-paced recruitment environment

  • Can confidently and credibly engage with stakeholders of all levels of seniority

  • Maintains a high standard of work and stretches peers to aspire to do the same

In terms of experience, we're looking for someone who has:

  • Significant experience in recruitment, including business development and executive-level headhunting

  • Training and coaching experience in a recruitment or sales environment

  • A qualification in professional development - this is not essential but would be ideal!
