With courage and authenticity as its core values, Crown Agents is a not-for-profit international development organisation with a global reach and a long history of delivering programmes that positively impact the lives of millions of people around the world.

At the core of the Crown Agents' approach is a belief that governments are the primary driver of the prosperity and life chances of their populations. Through its long-standing relationships with many governments, a wide geographical reach and wide-ranging technical capabilities, Crown Agents plays a key role in strengthening government systems and responding to critical needs - be those immediate and humanitarian or longer-term sustainable development priorities.

In recognising that climate change is a major driver of risk to human health and to the effectiveness of health systems, Crown Agents is seeking to develop a new Climate and Health focused service offering to complement its growing Climate Change and Energy practice and long-standing Health programmes. To lead this, Crown Agents seek a Principal Consultant to steer and build conversations, partnerships, and programmes in this new area.

In this role, you will be:

  • Building off Crown Agents' strong reputation in health programme delivery to position Crown Agents as a leading partner to governments and donors in addressing climate change-related risks and opportunities in the health sector.

  • Ensuring all programmes at the cross-section of climate and health are delivered to a high technical quality whilst building upon existing programmes to secure a healthy pipeline of programmes. You will be working closely with both the Climate and Health teams, acting as Project Director to combine knowledge and exposure across international borders.

  • Providing technical insight behind projects with themes of sustainable, climate-resilient, and low carbon health systems, including sustainable health facility energy access and health supply chains. Using this expertise, you will be communicating and presenting internally and externally as a basis of bringing on new business.

  • Proactively expanding the business offering, identifying clients and business opportunities, and building new partnerships whilst leveraging Crown Agent's track record and legacy. You will be providing support on external relations, engaging stakeholders, and raising the profile of the Climate and Health offering.

As this role is expected to develop and grow over time, your responsibilities will broaden as Crown Agents expect to diversify this new function at the cross-section of two teams.

To be successful in this role, you will already have:

  • A track record of working with a range of clients or projects on an international scale, within Climate or Health.

  • Experience in engaging stakeholders across governments, NGOs, charities, ministries, foundations, and communities.

  • A personal drive to be at the forefront of an evolving space with unrivalled room to create impact.

The Crown Agents' headquarters is in London; however, this role allows for flexibility in work location and can consider applications from the UK, Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, Kenya, or Nigeria also.
