Reporting to the Vice President in the EMEA region, the Private Equity Lead is a newly created role, aiming to deepen the Sustainability consulting capabilities of an already winning and well-established organization with the largest and fastest-growing energy and sustainability business in the world, to develop and position a best-in-class ESG & Sustainability advisory proposition for the Private Equity client segment.

Location: Home-office based (UK, France, Germany, Benelux, Nordics)

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop new initiatives and programs to institutionalize a best-in-class approach for ESG and climate strategies into the PE segment and advocate & lead the adoption through coaching and implementation of a comprehensive methodology and framework.

  • Set up the commercial strategy for the company's growth in the PE segment.

  • Work with EMEA commercial leadership to set the annual targets and account for the growth of the PE Segment, while supporting regional sales teams to deliver against commercial goals in line with the overall growth plan.

  • Direct consulting with investor clients on the creation and execution of strategic initiatives in sustainability and ESG, underpinned and enabled by digital solutions.

  • Capture innovative PE business development best practices and coach EMEA business development teams to promote education and boost pipeline generation.

  • Collaborate with multiple teams and departments in the EMEA zone to build deep relationships, understand the culture and gain important skills that can be applied to PE clients.

  • Contribute to increasing the overall quality of PE-focused personnel, partnering with HR in the areas of recruitment, development, and retention of quality talent.

  • Travelling as required.

About you:

  • Relevant bachelor's degree in business, sustainability, or environmental sciences, with a demonstrated interest/experience in ESG issues and themes (e.g., energy, climate change) is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability research and best practice implementation across the Private Equity sector, gained in a top-tier private equity firm and/or consultancy.

  • Strong consulting skills and deep experience in private equity firm investment, divestment, and portfolio management activities.

  • Experience consulting on corporate sustainability issues in an investor environment, with a strong knowledge of regulations, reporting, and industry drivers.

  • Experience in solving complex business problems and devising business strategies, through formulating research and/or analytical approaches involving quantitative analysis, conceptualization, and communication of strategic solutions.

  • Understanding and network of contacts in the large-cap and mid-market private equity industry.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office environment, and CRM systems (salesforce.com or equivalent).
