Are you a communications professional motivated by the opportunity to work in a values-driven organisation? The Ethical Tea Partnership collaborate with tea companies, development organisations, and governments to improve the lives of workers, farmers, and the environment. With an emphasis on three key pillars of economics, equality, and environment, they are seeking a Programme Communications Manager to join the business and drive forward their communications and media strategy.

In this role, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Actively raising awareness of the systemic matters faced by the tea sector and how Ethical Tea Partnership proactively addresses these issues.

  • Maximising communications influence through attending the relevant programme and country meetings whilst steering committees and proactively assessing room to improve the communications and content plan.

  • Creating multimedia toolkits and impactful messaging options for members and partners to share with their audiences on the work underway to further expand the outreach of Ethical Tea Partnership.

  • Leading the delivery of communications and content across multiple social media channels, maximising the options for further engagement, including Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram, whilst exploring other options.

You will be joining a small and creative team who supports the organisation's work on the ground, helping to deliver programmes across Asia and Africa. With complex issues to tackle, it is essential to translate these into easy-to-digest content.

You already have:

  • Experience and success in planning and delivering multimedia campaigns and growing social media networks in an international or cross-borders setting.

  • A passion for sustainability and communicating around topics such as ethics, supply chains, international communities, climate change and the environment.

  • Cultural astuteness and the ability to see the bigger picture whilst creatively approaching situations with a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Strong engagement and multi-stakeholder skills, understanding the importance of tailoring your approach and style across a variety of settings and levels.

The Ethical Tea Partnership pride itself on its equality and diversity. If you are confident that you can add value and expertise but do not 'tick every box'- do still apply, as there is no 'perfect' candidate.
