This is a unique opportunity to work with one of the world's leading infrastructure investors to conceptualise and then commence the delivery of a responsible investment program focused on developing their core investment functions.

This is a 12-month contract reporting into the board of a global infrastructure operating across multiple international markets including the UK, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin and North America.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Establish and articulate a compelling vision for how the company can deliver the board's ambition to be the world's leading Responsible infrastructure investment firm

  • Based on this vision, develop the Group's ESG strategy & framework, to include both a responsible investment programme and the firm's corporate approach

Responsible investment programme:

  • In consultation with senior management, shape the Group's responsible investment strategy

  • Translate this strategy into a framework that considers business opportunities and risks as well as external reporting and regulatory requirements; the responsible investment framework should support the integration of relevant ESG factors into the firm's investment practices

  • Working closely with investment develop and implement investment metrics and KPIs that will drive the business to deliver continuous improvement in ESG performance

  • Drive engagement with the business and act as a catalyst for cultural change across our four regions through building knowledge, understanding and adoption of best practices through training and communication across the business

Corporate Footprint:

  • Accountability for responses to relevant external ESG assessments including CDP, TCFD, UN PRI and support of UN SDG's

  • Develop the firm's external reporting strategy and prioritisation, including analysis of other ESG reporting frameworks and making recommendations regarding alignment with those frameworks

  • Thought leadership, sharing of best practice internally and represent the firm externally through membership of relevant external associations

  • Working closely with Investor Relations and Communications to develop how the firm articulates its 'ESG story externally' and integrates it into the fabric of both its corporate narrative, brand and investment case

  • Develop the group's response to climate change, to include developing and implementing a strategy for carbon emission measurement and reduction, working in conjunction with investment teams

  • Pro-actively engage with ESG rating agencies to learn where the Group needs to focus on strengthening its ESG disclosure and to rectify inaccuracies in rating research reports
