Our client has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Climate Investment Strategist to working a varied capacity across a diversified global asset manager with over $500bn AUM.

The role will have three core areas of coverage:

  • Working directly on an actively managed global equity fund focused on climate scenario analysis to evaluate and implement investment opportunities

  • Designing climate response strategies for clients and coordinating the integration of climate factors into all bespoke multi-asset solutions

  • Working in collaboration with the investment stewardship team to further develop the analysis which underpins their pioneering work to accelerate the climate transition through engaging actively with a wide range of global corporates.

Further responsibilities:

  • Research investment opportunities and develop climate impact investing strategies, to promote practical Sustainable investing through a climate change lens

  • Developing climate risk and alignment metrics

  • Advising investment teams on using tools, and helping to embed climate risk into our investment process

  • Partnering with strategic clients on developing climate aware strategies

  • Extending research and expertise in climate risk and scenario analysis

  • Identifying investment opportunities from solving the climate crisis and the energy transition

  • Supporting investment strategy & research and the wider CIO office on climate and energy-related, and wider sustainability/strategy matters

Experiences Sought:

  • A detailed knowledge of climate change, carbon pricing, climate risks, transition scenarios and physical risk evaluation

  • Detailed knowledge of corporate finance theory, ideally with experience of practical application in an investment context

  • A broad understanding of capital markets, security pricing in different asset classes, and portfolio management

  • Macro-economic modelling and the ability to interpret and apply data

  • An understanding of different industry frameworks/scenario modelling, regulation and government policy with respects to climate change at a global level

  • Confident and capable communication and presentation skills - with experience presenting in a professional context. Capable of explaining complex subject matter clearly
