Acre has been engaged by a Luxury Retailer based in Central London on their search for a high performing Senior Fire Safety Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all large internal fire safety projects, working closely members of various teams across a number of different departments.

The ability to build relationships and leverage your interpersonal skills will be crucial for success in this role. This is an incredible opportunity to lead from within and impactfully support a globally recognised retailer.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY

Lead and Advise

You will:

  • Be responsible for leading the business' fire safety function and driving strategic objectives forward

  • Work tactically and strategically to maintain the safety of all buildings, as well as the people working within them

  • Ensure that the business' Fire Strategies are met, particularly during project and construction works

  • Achieve compliance with the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (2005), specifically Part 1, Article 5 and Part 2, Articles 8-23

  • Ensure the organisation gets the right type and level of technical advice and instruction either delivered through the Health and Safety team or via third party specialists - for example, Fire Safety Engineers, Designers, Risk Assessors

Influence and Engage

You will:

  • Increase knowledge and awareness of the Fire Strategy requirements for all stores, educating key stakeholders on what the requirements are and the importance of achieving them

  • Positively influence the behaviours of key stakeholders, as well as their teams, to improve fire safety management within the business

  • Be curious and challenging when interacting with stakeholders to gain better insight

  • Support the continuous improvement of fire safety throughout the business through the creation of initiatives, education and completion of identified improvements

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Membership of IFE or IFSM

  • Essential - qualification in fire safety management or fire engineering at Degree or Diploma level (or equivalent)

  • Currently working in a strategic role with a high level of responsibility

  • Liaising with enforcing authorities

  • Working with Architects, Designers, Project Managers, Engineers and Building Control Officers

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, undergoing regular change and growth

  • Flexible approach to suit the needs of the business with a high level of care taken in each task

  • Strong team player but can also work autonomously to deliver results
