Our client is an impact investment manager that focus on early to growth-stage investments in financially sustainable businesses (with the aim of making positive social economic and environmental impact.)
Following the successful launch of their first fund in February 2021, they are now seeking to scale the business from an investor relations and fundraising perspective.
They are looking to hire an investor relations professional who is initially coming in to assist with a new climate transition fund, and will be reporting to the COO and Head of Fundraising and Investor Relations.
The role will involve supporting fundraising from end to end, with areas such as fundraising packs, due diligence, legal requirements, DDQs, RFPs, data requests and pipelining prospects.
The ideal candidate will be able to project manage an end-to-end fundraising process and form meaningful, strong relationships with both existing and prospective investors throughout their life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the senior team and internal stakeholders to create a streamlined process around LP interactions
You will work directly with the managing partners and wider business functions including investment, legal, compliance, impact, finance and operations.
Project manage fundraising efforts on behalf of PE funds and other investment vehicles
Assist with creation of pitch books and fundraising related materials
Assist with coordination of the due diligence materials and design of the process of operational and investment due diligence
Data Room management
Liaise with GP and LP contacts as well as assist with the research and identification of target investors
Work closely with the distribution team on ad hoc projects
Assist with designing processes around the management of the CRM database and oversee its management
Market Research
Assist with creation of processes around data collection, analysis and drafting in response to routine investor queries and ad hoc requests, coordinating internally to ensure timely responses
Assist with development of quarterly reports process and IR Calendar for existing investors and collaborate with the executive team to execute (Quarterly IR and Impact Reports, Quarterly Calls, etc.)
Create and maintain presentations for investor outreach activity including one on one meetings, conference calls and events
Be an internal resource across the organisation to help facilitate consistent client-facing messaging
Develop and maintain good working relationships with key members of the impact investing community
Assist with conducting competitive and strategic analysis on the firm, its peers, and the industry to help keep management aware of the markets and investor views
Experience&Skills
investor relations and fundraising project management experience in-house with a fund manager, at a placement agency or another similar environment such as large institutional capital allocator.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred, with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant fields.
Strong written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to assist with drafting documentation and presentations
Outstanding financial and analytical skills with a highly technical understanding of private market products, as well as a strong business acumen
Demonstrated capability for independent judgment is critical; ability to independently plan, organise and prioritise work and adapt to shifting priorities
Proven track record of successfully reporting quarterly results, leading/project managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines and multitasking with ease
Ability to perform in a start-up environment with a problem-solving and solutions-oriented mindset.
Takes ownership for outcomes, a self-starter, and is personally accountable for results
