This is a key role at one of the world's most successful impact funds with over $1bn invested to date. Following the successful raise of their most recent fund last year, they are now seeking to bolster the Investor relations team before their next fundraise in 2021. The primary focus of the role is to contribute to the success of the Investor Relations function by further building Investor Relations globally. This will be achieved primarily through the development of IR activity, fundraisings, and a marketable IR competency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation of the firm's IR programme, such as regular Fund LPAC meetings, quarterly and annual Fund and Co-investment investor reporting (working closely with Finance, Impact and The firm Deal teams), and with Legal team, manage ad-hoc investor voting matters and any LP transfers or secondaries

  • Lead the planning and execution of the firm's annual Investor AGM, working closely with the Communications team

  • Proactively expand the firm's network of global investor relationships, directly as well as by enabling The firm leadership, to bring a constant focus on deepening existing investor relationships as well as identifying and cultivating prospective new investor relationships

  • Promote the continual articulation of the story of the firm's unique team, strategy, performance and impact to the investor community; attend key investor conferences and events, and be an articulate spokesperson for the firm, exemplifying its values and vision

  • In conjunction with the Global Head of Investor Relations and others, support the strategizing, planning, and execution of new fundraisings, including market analysis, preparation of all fund marketing materials (including VDR, pitch decks, PPM, DDQ, etc.), and legal and fund structuring and partnership-formation with various providers

  • On an ongoing basis before and throughout fundraisings, support the development and execution of formal fundraising pitches and roadshow-type activities

  • Lead the firm's Co-investment program, both with existing investors and the wider external private equity and financial services community. Support the execution of Co-investment opportunities with deal teams.

  • Undertake or commission research and analysis as relevant on existing and prospective T investors or competitor managers to support the shaping of new fundraising strategies, investor relations activities and investor communications, and also to inform wider brand-building and strategic positioning;

  • Manage and motivate an IR associate and other team members as required

Experiences sought:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in private markets fundraising and/or investor relations.

  • Demonstrated experience of working with LPs and diverse types of institutional investors across multiple markets from a private markets perspective

  • Intellectual drive and capacity. Ability to analyse information and present compelling arguments, quickly grasping and effectively communicating concepts to diverse audiences

  • Central to the role is the ability to effectively communicate with investors and the internal team, across written and verbal mediums. It is critical that you will have the capability of communicate with senior executives at institutional investors in a way that demonstrates an understanding of the strategic imperatives for them

  • Experience in and an understanding of sales processes in financial services / private equity. Ability to identifying prospects, build a sales pipeline and tailor the parameters of the sales proposition are essential criteria

  • Solid financial background, with a robust understanding of private equity fund structuring and terms, fund performance metrics and portfolio financials that are critical to the role

  • Capable of finding creative solutions and proactively identifying market opportunities for growth by accessing new and larger pools of AUM
