You're working in sustainability and ESG as you want to make a difference. You have a desire to create meaningful change - but is your business supporting you to accomplish that?

Redrow is one of the largest residential property developers in the UK, with an impressive reputation for building distinctive and high-quality homes across England and Wales. Redrow has aligned its sustainability approach to focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to achieve a better global future for all by addressing key ESG challenges.

The Redrow Corporate Sustainability team is currently on a journey of growth and is looking for someone like you to deliver this sustainability vision. Day to day, you'll be putting your technical experience and expertise into defining and developing the Social Value strategy, as well as working closely with the Head of Research & Sustainability to manage a broad ESG project framework, ensuring the alignment of Redrow principles and values with operational activities.

You'll be;

  • A confident and creative innovator - You'll be a recognised expert and will promote innovation in a particular area of sustainability and ESG, such as responsible materials procurement, sustainable design, biodiversity net gain or community engagement.

  • You'll continually horizon scan, reviewing the risks and opportunities facing Redrow and recommending changes to the Group Sustainability and ESG strategy.

  • An exceptional programme manager and multi-tasker - You'll be working closely with all technical functions within Redrow to drive a variety of ESG framework projects from inception through to completion.

  • An accomplished leader - You'll manage, develop and coach a small team of Sustainability and ESG professionals, helping to drive performance across the Group as well as regional business units.

  • An outstanding organiser and mobiliser - You'll be responsible for inspiring, exciting and challenging key stakeholders, both internally and externally, and bringing people together to integrate sustainability initiatives into core business processes and decision making. You'll be the "go to" expert for major sustainability projects, taking every opportunity to communicate and educate others on important ESG topics.

In terms of experience;

  • It's important that you have Corporate Sustainability or ESG leadership experience in a large organisation. Applications from the built environment sectors will be viewed favourably.

  • It's vital that you possess an in-depth understanding of Social Value and have experience delivering a Social Value or Community Investment strategy.

  • It's important that you're technically proficient - you will possess a relevant degree in a sustainability-related discipline and a strong numerical and technical understanding of sustainability topics.

  • You'll be an accomplished manager, with experience leading a team of sustainability specialists.

  • You'll have an understanding of the five 'Sustainable Capitals' and the challenges in balancing social, environmental and commercial factors.

  • It's vital that you possess the ability to inspire, excite and challenge, particularly when engaging board and executive-level stakeholders.

  • You can be based almost anywhere in the UK, so long as you are within a reasonable distance of one of Redrow's regional offices.

In return for your skills and expertise, you'll be met with a competitive salary, a car allowance or company car, and an impressive bonus. You'll also have some peace of mind - in the past year, Redrow has continued to push ahead with its growth plans and long-term commitment to sustainability and ESG.
