IPIECA develops, shares and promotes good practice and knowledge to help the oil and gas industry improve its environmental and social performance. They do this with the understanding that the issues that dominate the sustainable development agenda - climate and energy, environmental and social issues - are too big for individual companies to tackle alone. The industry must work together to achieve improvements that have real impact. IPIECA helps to achieve this goal.

Acre is delighted to be supporting IPIECA in their search for a Social Responsibility Senior Manager. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will facilitate the development and uptake of initiatives designed to align the industry around critical sustainability, human rights and responsible supply chain issues.

You will act as the key contact and subject matter expert for industry leading programme development and best-practice guidelines, and be responsible for:

  • Organising events and conferences for members to share issues and build practical solutions

  • Developing regular member communications and working with external consultants tasked with developing content

  • Building relationships and engaging with key stakeholders including the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights, IFC, various NGOs and research institutions

  • Monitoring external initiatives including EITI, the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, voluntary/mandatory reporting requirements and providing updates to members as necessary

In this role you will work closely with senior leaders from the oil and gas industry, supporting the development and promotion of sound practices and solutions across environmental and social performance.

This will be underpinned with:

  • Relevant sustainability experience within a related industry or industries, such as energy or extractives

  • Extensive project management experience

  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders with the aim of building consensus, trust and alignment

  • Detailed understanding of social responsibility and supply chain issues and the factors driving the global energy transition

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail

This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in tackling one of the world's most pressing issues.
