Acre is collaborating with a purpose-led global supplier of tea, coffee, and botanical extracts, supporting their sustainable hiring and growth plans. The brand is seeking a Sustainability Executive to join their team, focusing on strategy development, customer engagement and their ethical supply chain.

Founded in 1750, they have continuously improved and developed their sustainability function, which has consistently been a core priority and they pride themselves on their purposeful offering to the beverage industry.

This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of an ethical and well reputed international supplier, whilst implementing their strategic programmes and having direct meaningful impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Being a group representative as the regional sustainability subject matter expert, supporting the European commercial region

  • Directly involving in customer engagements, driving global initiatives at a local level, and getting directly involved with sustainable supply, empowered communities and our people working groups

  • Manage and pioneer relationships with third party ethical trade certification bodies and standards, including Fairtrade, RA, and SEDEX

  • Collaborate with local and regional teams to roll out latest policies, and act as a central point for all related enquiries

  • Support the development of sustainable reports, proposal writing and communications for external initiatives and customers. This may involve ad-hoc external reporting and collating project summaries for input into the annual sustainability report

  • Provide innovative solutions to monitoring the sustainability programmes e.g. new tools or project trackers, in a quest to continually improve the group's overall efficiency

You will utilise the following skills and attributes:

  • Relevant and transferrable experience in ethical compliance, standards, or social sustainability

  • A sound knowledge of ethical trade platforms, certifications, and standards which you have experienced first-hand or in a practical environment

  • Experience of delivering sustainable initiatives, with a commercial mindset and awareness

  • Knowledge of environmental, economic, social and governance issues within the beverage/FMCG or similar industry

  • Social audit training or qualification

  • Ability to deliver projects in a structured and clearly communicated manner, ensuring expected standards are achieved and that stakeholders are engaged and clear on requirements

  • The initiative to proactively understand the needs of internal and external stakeholders and then translate these needs into actions in an efficient way

This role can be based in their office in Pontefract or their innovation centre in central London.
