Our investment client is looking for a Responsible Capitalism Manager to work on their centralised Responsible Capitalism Team and to assist the group's investment teams with ESG integration components and help funds transition to Article 8 / 9.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with wider RC-related duties for the Plc, including project work in areas such as carbon, diversity and inclusion, attraction and retention of talent, and management of key exposure areas.

  • Help the group report more clearly (in its annual report, stewardship code response, PRI submission, CDP submission, DDQs, implementation reports, etc) on its RC-related work.

  • Integrate ESG in a way that works with each team's investment process and philosophy

  • Use and train others on in-house tools designed to assist with ESG integration and considerations of material exposures of holdings

  • Help the investment teams record information on key issues and engagement so that reporting is facilitated and streamlined

  • Assist the investment teams with engagements

  • Lead, undertake, organise and structure engagements on governance issues (pay, board structure and composition, UK Corporate Governance topics, reporting, etc) and report back to teams, as needed

  • Lead, undertake, organise and structure any engagements on other ESG and key exposure areas.

  • Assist with group reporting at the company level and on the fund level with regard to RC-related activities / areas, including for the UK Stewardship Code, TCFD, PRI, etc.

  • Assist with individual projects undertaken by the plc and / or individual investment teams on special areas, such as carbon, diversity, supply chains, etc.

  • Assist the teams with communications with holdings on proxy voting decisions (post voting)

Skills/knowledge/experience required:

  • A minimum of 6 years experience in the financial sector, specifically in the ESG / investing space, preferably on an investment team

  • IMC qualified

  • Strong knowledge of the UK Corporate Governance Code

  • Understanding of SFDR / EU Taxonomy and reporting requirements

  • Experience speaking with, presenting to high-level individuals in companies and industry

  • Proxy voting experience is desirable

  • Experience completing RFP / Implementation reports desirable

  • A clear (and evidenced) interest in ESG and improving company performance in this space
