Are you working within sustainability and environmental management but limited by red tape and a lack of autonomy?
The newly created role of Sustainability & Environment Manager will sit alongside the compliance team of this family-feel drinks business, with the backing of a multi-national French Co-operative.
Within this role, you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and influence on key sustainability issues.
The opportunity
Becoming the key lead for sustainability, managing and overseeing environmental issues for all sites and to spearhead the formulation of sustainability strategies and policies.
Ensuring sustainability commitments and targets are appropriately embedded into key tools and systems, identifying opportunities to improve consistency and integration of sustainability approaches across all sites.
Representing the business at industry events, working closely with external stakeholders, such as the UK Plastics Pact, to develop the company's sustainability profile.
Reviewing weekly Carbon Desktop reports for each site and providing a monthly report on key actions taken. Ensuring that the Company is kept up to date with changes in legislation and Customer Policies.
To report as required to ensure compliance with Climate Change Agreement, SECR, ESOS.
Managing Environmental Permits and Licences across all sites, ensuring compliance with Climate Change Agreement, SECR, ESOS.
Developing a training programme, becoming an internal consultant to the business providing expertise on sustainability from both an internal and external perspective.
The person
A strong communicator, with the ability to influence both internally and externally and work in partnership with suppliers, NGOs and industry bodies.
An ambitious sustainability professional, with the desire to grow and develop their own skills, whilst leading the way for the wider business.
Strong knowledge and expertise of environmental and social sustainability within retail and/or the fmcg industry, with the desire to work for a leading drinks business.
A collaborative approach to working with team members at all levels of seniority, with a passionate and entrepreneurial spirit.
Commercially savvy, acting with responsibility and integrity, whilst thinking about the bigger picture across business.
Experience in delivering training and development courses, raising awareness of sustainability and environmental topics.
