Sustainability Director

The job holder develops and leads the sustainability strategy and manages the sustainability programs required to achieve the commitments defined in the Sustainability Strategy. The successful candidate drives the education and awareness programs needed across the organisation to create the necessary cultural change. The jobholder drives the implementation of the sustainability targets and agenda throughout the business to ensure that the companies' performance is in line with LP's ambition to create a business that fulfils our strategic priority: 'Luxury with a higher meaning' as well legal requirements and stakeholder expectations.

What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Refining and implementing the sustainability strategy for La Prairie Group

  • Providing leadership, guidance, motivation for all employees contributing to LPG's efforts in this area. With HR, create and implement strong education and awareness programs to drive cultural change across the company regarding sustainability in all its aspects

  • Define an internal and external communication strategy regarding sustainability

  • Execute communication plan with internal and external communication specialists from LP

  • Defining and implement global environmental standards and pro-actively ensure compliance with all relevant regulations

  • Development of Audit program and monitoring of the follow-up processes

  • Share said trends with sustainability board, ensure key new fields are considered and acted upon as needed

  • Coordinate Sustainability efforts with Beiersdorf and other key partners to be defined

What skills and experience will you need?

  • Degree in sustainability, environmental sciences biology, chemistry or equivalent

  • several years of sustainability experience

  • Experience in the luxury industry

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience in and passion for sustainability

  • Strong in managing ambiguity and highly diverse networks

  • High level of persistence and conflict management, skills to overcome resistance

  • Strong external network

  • Ability to influence a broad group of stakeholders,

  • Team player, and excels in inspiring others with strong communication skills

  • Fluency in English, any other languages are of advantage

This role is based in the company's head office in Zürich, Switzerland.
