About the role


In light of achieving their goal of providing a better and more sustainable future, the general purpose of this position is to drive the implementation and coordinate the transformation of projects to deliver Grünenthal's sustainability ambitions within the Origgio manufacturing site.



Responsibilities


Strategic Responsibilities

  • Drive and execute a comprehensive multi-year strategy to continue the manufacturing site's drive towards minimizing its environmental footprint. The strategy focuses on both technical systems/standards, leadership, behavioural, and cultural aspects.

  • Identification of opportunities and new project ideas to provide recommendations and technical expertise, in consultation with the Manufacturing team and external consultants, which can contribute to the global sustainability strategic goals which include carbon neutrality, minimizing waste generation and improving wastewater quality.

  • Create synergy and support the Environmental culture.

  • Support to the manufacturing site. Support achievement of Key Performance Measures (KPI's), monitoring progress and identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations based on findings.

  • Supporting global businesses in defining their sustainability targets and creating visible, accountable plans to achieve them.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Project management and project collaboration -including the planning and implementation-of a decarbonisation strategy for the site aligned to the delivery of the company sustainability targets.

  • Creation of technical and economic analysis and of potential projects, including supporting the site on waste minimisation projects.

  • Ongoing identification of improvement opportunities.

  • Supporting on-site units and contribute to global projects to achieve carbon neutrality, minimize waste generation, and improve water quality.

  • Support in achieving Key Performance Measures (KPI's).

Who are you?


You are a results-driven, independent, and innovative individual that also thrives on working in an interdisciplinary team environment with a structured and analytical way of thinking. You are service-oriented, understanding and responding to the needs of all stakeholders involved, and enjoys working in a high performing team.

  • Degree in engineering or strong environmental/energy professional background.

  • Experience in energy management roles is required.

  • Experience in environmental management / professional certification in environment is desired.

  • Knowledge of renewable energy technology and implementation.

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate through and work in a matrix organization in a multinational company.

  • Knowledge of planning, tendering, construction management and billing of technical systems (each with knowledge of the technical rules and regulations).

  • Track record in managing multiple conflicting priorities and projects.

  • Fluency in business English.
