Acre is pleased to partner with a leading product wholesale and distribution business, in their search for a Sustainability Manager. This individual will drive the organisation's strategy and stakeholder engagement across the group's retail division compromising of five businesses. Our clients' customer base includes of some of the biggest brands in the world and the work of the Sustainability Manager will contribute to the growing success of these relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Influence and inform key internal stakeholders on sustainability and its risks, value and commercial potential
Represent the organisation externally at a range of events and meetings, as well as advising customers on challenges as the go-to sustainability expert
Monitor changing policy and legislation to continue tracking regulatory requirements
Provide business units with the tools to consult customers on sustainability enquiries and policy
Continuously explore and identify disruptive sustainability products and services which add value to the business and its customers
Strong knowledge of material sustainability issues is a must, and previous experience of product sustainability, circular economy and packaging would be highly advantageous.
Experience Required:
A demonstrable track record in sustainability and experience of material supply chains, product and policy
A natural innovator, able to problem solve and provide solutions to unique material sustainability issues
Excellent influencing and negotiating skills, able to easily build effective and transparent relationships
A self-starter who can manage a complex workload, operating across multiple teams, both internally and externally
Experienced in supporting clients and keeping abreast of policy and legislation which may affect sustainability priorities within retail
This position will give the successful candidate an opportunity to influence decision making within a wide-reaching organisation and its customers and catalyse valuable sustainability knowledge and buy-in throughout the business's value chain.
The role includes regular travel across the UK.
