Are you a purpose driven sustainability professional looking to make a long-lasting impact in the aviation industry?

One of the UK's best-recognised airlines is searching for a Sustainability Manager - Customer Journey, to join an established team. Working towards the goal of being net zero by 2050, the business is looking for an entrepreneurial individual who can help them achieve their goal of developing a best-in-class customer facing sustainability strategy.

Reporting into the Head of Sustainability, you will have a varied role, from driving the focus on plastics and circular economy performance to supporting all divisions including airports and the digital spaces. This will be both an opportunity to work on the organisation's strategy as well as collaborating with other leaders in aviation to define industry best practice.

In this role you will:

  • Benchmark against industry peers to develop a best-in-class customer facing sustainability strategy that reflects the organisation's innovation focussed leadership.

  • Work across digital spaces, In-Flight Services, airports, and other divisions to deliver sustainable products and services that engage with customers.

  • Drive business performance in the uptake of products and services such as voluntary carbon offsets and removals.

  • Drive internal and external focus on plastics, waste and circular economy performance.

  • Create engagement opportunities across the customer journey that bring these propositions to life.

  • Manage working groups to deliver waste, circular economy, sustainable food sourcing and customer journey initiatives across a matrix structure.

To excel in the role, you will bring:

  • Excellent working knowledge of climate change and environmental issues including waste, circular economy principles, carbon emissions and reductions and carbon offsets.

  • Ability to represent the business externally with commercial partners, suppliers and industry environmental stakeholders.

  • Ability to bring focus and discipline to working with teams to challenge and improve thinking on sustainability opportunities, priorities and delivery.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the agility to work within a fluid, cross matrix and constantly changing environment.

This is a hybrid role with the chance to work from their office in Surrey as well as working from home. In return, the position is offering up to £65,000, a discretionary bonus and a benefits package tailored toward those who love travel.
