Sustainability Product Owner

Through strategic data collection, governance, methodology and carbon accounting modules, our client offers its key customers and suppliers innovative digital products and business models to accelerate their transition towards a world in which everyone can enjoy dairy responsibly.

Their primary focus is driving greenhouse gas reductions in the dairy value chain at a global scale, productised as sustainability solutions. The Sustainability Product Owner is a seasoned professional that helps to shape the worldwide methodology and technology at the core of this industry-leading value proposition.

Key Responsibilities

Product:

• Define and implement the digital vision for Sustainability Solutions (e.g., create a new carbon accounting system)

• Organise workshops to validate requirements for all client types

• Manage stakeholders (internal and external)

• Prioritise backlog, plan maintenance, coordinate release and promote change

• Drive continuous improvement, prototyping and digital innovation

Methodology:

• Update the product based on carbon protocol/methodology/accounting changes

• Participate in international working groups (e.g., agri-tech/GHG related) on GHG tooling

• Ensure governance on data, methodology and technology; fit for industry-wide certification by rigorous process design and documentation

Technology:

• End-to-end responsibility for tech implementation of product

• Coordinate front/back-end development teams, UX designers, privacy & security advisors, data professionals, IT ops and process

​

Key Competences:

• >10 years of experience in Innovation, Sustainability, Consulting or Digital, of which at least three years as Product Owner or (Senior) Project Manager, depending on the job

• Extensive leadership experience in delivering value

• Prior exposure to sustainability tooling or methodology

• International working experience

• Knowledge of working with data and application integrations API management is a plus

• Experience in managing IT vendors

• Service-oriented - feel responsible for the success of clients

• Creative problem solver - always looking for the next idea that can piece the puzzle together

• Strong communicator - great listener that can make complex concepts seem easy

• Team player - balancing independence with a passion for helping others progress
