Acre has been selected as Tyman's search partner to fill a pivotal role in the business, the Sustainability Programme Manager for the ERA/Tyman UK and Ireland division. The Sustainability Programme Manager will be leading the implementation of the groups' ambitious sustainability strategy across this division with collaboration across the wider global business to share best practice, build capability and ensure consistency of approach.

Key duties will include:

  • Serve as ERA/Tyman UK's internal leader and 'go to' expert for sustainability and environmental topics, communicating and educating others in line with company strategy.

  • Work closely with the other two divisions to implement the sustainability strategy and 2030 roadmap, focusing on two pillars:

    • Sustainable Solutions - GHG emissions and Science Based Target development, sustainable packaging, managing and eliminating hazardous materials, sustainable product development and tracking performance against the UN Sustainable Development Goals

    • Sustainable Operations - Energy, water and waste management and reduction in operations and supply chain, supporting the shift to renewable power solutions and coordinating data gathering and tool development to support group reporting around Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)

  • Stay abreast of the relevant regulations, news and trends, and inform senior management accordingly

  • Represent ERA/Tyman UK in relevant industry associations, events or external stakeholder meetings where applicable

This role will report to the Technical Director and have a close working relationship with the Group Director of Health, Safety & Sustainability as well as numerous other leaders across the business, including strong working relationships with the other two Divisions.

As this role will be responsible for implementing the groups' sustainability strategy into the various parts of the business, you will need to be able to inspire and influence people to take ownership of environmental and sustainability issues as well as taking the lead on specific projects yourself.

You will continuously look for opportunities to drive business improvements; create change and add value with more innovative ways of working and be expected to be self-assured in your abilities and use this to market and promote the business's sustainability strategy in creative ways.

The Sustainability Programme Manager will have:

  • A degree level qualification in a relevant field

  • The desire to create impact and be an environmental and sustainability ambassador

  • Strong project management, analytical and presentation skills

  • Experience in working with a diverse range of cultures across multiple regions
