A leading foundation with the purpose of contributing to the transition to a regenerative and inclusive economy, has partnered with Acre to appoint a Sustainable Finance Policy Programme Manager to join their London office. The key goals of the foundation are to combat climate change and inequality.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to influencing how capital is deployed in the global financial system so that positive business practices prevail, and industries are transformed to tackle systemic sustainability related risks. Examples being climate change, social supply chains and labour standards. The foundation contributes to creating a new definition of value beyond, shareholder value.
This Sustainable Finance Programme Manager remit involves applying financial policy experience in order to allocate grant spending in the most impactful way. Responsibilities include:
Supporting the implementation of the 5-year strategy plan
Undertaking research to identify gaps in aligning capital markets with decarbonisation, and then design an agenda to engage with relevant partners in order to bridge such gaps
Convening thought leaders from across various schools of thought to promote discussion of how best to support systemic change, with a focus on EU financial policy frameworks
Creating a pipeline of organisations to receive funding to accelerate change
The successful applicant with have:
Experience of EU financial policy making, policy analysis or development, within the context of climate change, or another sustainability topic
An understanding of innovative business models and how they contribute to the goals of the foundation
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
