A specialist alternative asset manager with responsible investing at the core of its value proposition, is looking to add an experienced Sustainable Investment professional to its growing team.

The firm provides funds, direct investment and co-investment solutions across an array of alternative investment strategies. This an exciting point in the firms growth with AUM growth of over 40% in 2020 and net income growth of over 25%.

The company's expertise spans both public and private markets with a particular specialism in listed equities, private equity and real assets (timber, renewable energy, housing and infrastructure).

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the investment teams to identify opportunities for further integration of ESG across all asset divisions.

  • Develop tools and procedures to enhance the way in which the firm assesses and reports on sustainability, engagement and voting activities.

  • Keep abreast of evolving trends and developments within sustainable finance to help support the investment decision making process.

  • Assist with the identification and monitoring of climate change risks and opportunities.

  • Support the Sustainable Investment Director in developing the firm's Sustainable Investment Framework and ensuring that it is embedded across all business lines.

  • Actively contribute to the strategic direction of the firm's approach to sustainability.

  • Produce thought leadership pieces on sustainable and impact themes for internal and external audiences.

  • Work closely with the investment teams to put in place outcome-based investment objectives and develop appropriate engagement and stewardship plans to deliver these.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience working with investment teams in an ESG/Sustainable or impact specialist capacity

  • Experience conducting sustainability driven research at sector and/or company level for investment teams.

  • In-depth understanding of how to assess a company's ESG credentials across public and/or private markets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
