Why are you here?

There are a few reasons that will work well for both of us:

  1. You enjoy administrative tasks, you're creative and your eye for detail is second to none.

  2. You're currently in an operational position - or a similar role that requires you to be an organisational wizard and an excellent proofreader - but you're ready to get stuck into something new.

  3. You'd like to work for an organisation whose values align with yours - perhaps somewhere with a clear purpose or operating in an interesting sector.

If you're nodding along, it sounds like you're in the right place. We'll tell you why we're here.

We're experiencing incredible levels of internal growth at Acre. As you'd expect in those circumstances, we're working hard to ensure that each of our global offices are well equipped to keep up and, as a business that prides itself on being marketing-led, this means that our marketing team is busier than ever. So, we need someone to help us keep things running as smoothly and as efficiently as possible.

Does this sound like you? Let's tell you more about it.

Firstly, we're a global recruitment business (c. 120 people) operating in the sustainability and climate change sectors. I'm sure this explains a little about why we're so busy - everyone is looking to tackle these problems head-on right now, but also need a recruitment partner that's well versed in these markets.

Fortunately, we've been doing this a long time - for almost twenty years - so we know what our clients are looking to achieve and the solutions that will get them there. Our head office is in London - where you'd be based - but we also have offices in New York, Amsterdam and Singapore.

In terms of how, when and where you work, we can be flexible. We'd just ask that you can get into the office about once a week.

Now, if you were to join our marketing team as an assistant, what might your role look like on the day to day?

Your Key Responsibilities:

Job Posting

  • Posting job advertisements on our website & Linkedin - proofreading, formatting & ensuring that they end up in the right places at the right time

  • Creating social graphics, getting them approved by consultants and then sharing from our social channels

  • Making any text/image changes as needed

Helping Onboard New Starters

  • Collecting a professional biography & a temporary staff photo from new starters

  • Saving these items in all the right places - on our website, Canva, our pitching software (LucidPress), and more

  • Putting together a welcome post for their first day

  • Providing new starters with company LinkedIn header photos and company descriptions

Administrative Support

  • Ad/hoc administrative support as required for our marketing team

  • Ad/hoc document proofreading and formatting support - this can be in the form of Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and more

  • Populating web pages - we'll provide you with the content, we'll just ask you to proofread it and put it where it belongs

  • Helping raise support tickets across our job posting and website platforms

  • Helping monitor our team email inbox and diverting queries appropriately

  • Helping schedule marketing-related meetings and events

  • Liaising with our photographer to schedule staff photo sessions for new starters and existing staff, as and when necessary

To succeed in this role, what will we need from you?

  • You'll need to be organised, with exceptional attention to detail: Your ability to manage your time effectively and keep on top of your daily tasks will be two of your greatest assets. We're also often the last line of defence for errors here in marketing, so if you have an eye for detail, you'll excel in this role.

  • You'll need to be people-oriented: You will speak to consultants and business stakeholders day in, day out, so you'll need to be great at building and maintaining relationships.

  • You'll need to be naturally curious: 'The way we've always done things' isn't necessarily the way we need to continue doing them. We're always open to new ideas, and we'd love for you to get curious about new ways to achieve the same desired outcomes.

  • You'll need to be determined: When it comes to problem-solving, we love to get creative and think outside the box. If you have a strong resolve to overcome challenges and if you persist until the job is done well, you'll fit right in.

  • You'll need to be a strong communicator: You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • You'll need to be tech-savvy: You don't need to be an expert, and we'll teach you the ropes, but you'll be immersed in our marketing tech platforms. As long as you can learn and adapt quickly, you'll do just fine!

The following skills will also be important:

Required:

  • At least two years of experience working in a similar role

  • Excellent IT skills

  • Ability to be flexible in a progressive and vibrant culture

  • Strong when working as part of a team, but also able to work independently

  • Ability to take initiative, communicate with confidence and take ownership if your tasks

Desirable:

  • Experience in the recruitment industry

  • Experience with any of the following tech software/platforms: Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, the Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, Vimeo

  • Experience providing administrative support for larger projects

What else might interest you about working at Acre?

You'll be working in a supportive, development-driven environment. This means that we'll work with you to form an 'Alliance' whereby we'll let you know what we hope to get from you in your role, but we'll also ask you what we can do to help you develop and progress your career in return.

When it comes to helping tackle some of the world's greatest social and environmental issues, we're a large team of very passionate individuals. With that, we strive to embody our values of:

  • Collaboration:

We trust each other and we work together because we believe that collectively, we can achieve more.

  • Innovation:

We apply curiosity and creativity to everything we do, learning by asking the right questions to find innovative and forward-thinking solutions for our clients and our business.

  • Integrity:

We hold ourselves to the same high standards we hold society to.

  • Courage:

We embrace the power of vulnerability and transparency. We are brave in our conversations, will challenge directly and are courageous about doing the right thing, not the easy thing.
