Acre is proud to be working with one of the world's premier independent Advisory and Asset Management firms in identifying a Thematic Analyst to support it's ESG and Sustainable Investment teams across New York and London.

In this role, the successful candidate will play a key role in leveraging the firm's existing ESG knowledge base while serving as an integral part of the Investment Team in advancing research on the energy transition across the firm for both fixed income and equity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing deep research on companies and issues against the firm's existing sustainability framework and climate change investment policies.

  • Embark on independent thematic research on climate change and the energy transition by utilizing sell side and ESG focused research providers, news, and data sets with an aim build out the firm's in-house ESG Research framework

  • Working closely with the portfolio management teams to better incorporate ESG risks and opportunities into their investment and portfolio construction process

  • Building tools and frameworks around risks and opportunities around climate change such as new energy technologies, carbon taxes, and industry frameworks like Net Zero and TCFD for PMs and analysts to leverage in their decision making

  • Will identify areas to take ownership for other projects that contribute to the success of the firm's ESG offerings

Key Qualifications:

  • A clear pension for climate, social justice, and corporate governance research, primarily within investment banking, sell side research, asset management, and/or consulting.

  • Would also consider candidates within the academic community or who work within climate focused non-profits, with solid financial modelling experience

  • Subject matter mastery on climate and the energy transition including technological disruptions and advancements, thorough industry knowledge, and climate data

  • Strong financial modelling experience (excel preferred)
