Everland's mission is to protect forests and wildlife by investing in and empowering economically challenged forest communities. It represents the world's largest portfolio of high-impact forest conservation projects. Through leading REDD+ ("Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation") projects, significant investments are channelled to global forest communities, hence reducing incentives for deforestation. By 2030, Everland aims to protect 23 million hectares of forest from deforestation and degradation, resulting in climate change mitigation and biodiversity preservation.

As part of Everland's growth plan, they are looking for a Vice President (VP) of Marketing & Communications to design and execute its external communications and stakeholder engagement strategy. Reporting to the CEO of Everland, you will lead and grow a talented internal team of marketing and comms professionals, supporting the critical mission of Everland through building and strengthening its external profile.

In this VP of Marketing & Communications role, you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with the CEO to develop and execute Everland's marketing and communications strategy

  • Leading and developing a growing internal team of marketing and communications professionals to be able to support over 50 REDD+ projects in the market within the next five years

  • Overseeing the appointment of and managing relationships with external communications and marketing agencies and contractors

  • Positioning Everland as the world's premier conservation enterprise in forest conservation and protection

  • Promoting and positioning Everland's growing portfolio of forest conservation projects (REDD+) as best-in-class

  • Engaging with the global stakeholders of Everland through various communications channels, ensuring Everland is recognised for its impact in halting deforestation, addressing climate change, safeguarding biodiversity, and empowering international, marginalised communities

What the business is looking for:

  • A marketing and communications expert operating at a senior level with significant people and project management experience

  • Successful track record of corporate engagement, proactive media relations, and crisis communications

  • Subject matter expertise in forest conservation, carbon markets, and climate change. Ideally, you will have experience in REDD+

  • Impeccable writing skills with the ability to create compelling content via various communications channels

  • The ability to function well in an extremely high-paced environment, and able to manage and contribute to rapid growth
