Acre has partnered with a leading global alternative investment manager with strong growth ambitions pertaining to their ESG strategy and products.

Our client is seeking a Vice President of Environmental, Social, and Governance who will play an integral role in institutionalizing and growing a fully integrated and innovative ESG function across the business. Working particularly closely across the private equity group, this leader will partner heavily with their investment colleagues in effective engagement and value creation within the portfolio. At a group level this VP will influence firm policy, drive group wide strategy aligned with key ESG themes (ex. climate change) and contribute to new product development.

Additional Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Building and executing portfolio-wide initiatives in key ESG topics (i.e. health & safety, inclusion & diversity, climate change, employee engagement) by strategizing and implementing timely initiatives

  • Engaging with investment teams to mitigate material ESG risks and/or create value

  • Partnering with other strategies across the platform - Real Estate, Credit, and Private Equity - to build scalable ESG integration plans

  • Working closely with client-facing teams and assist with LP ESG due diligence

  • Developing a consistent and scalable approach to ESG data collection, validation, and reporting for stakeholders

  • Building working relationships across the firm with investment, client-facing, product, and senior management colleagues to support strategy implementation and communication

The ideal candidate will be an ESG/Sustainability subject matter expert with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a combination of management consulting, inhouse sustainability management and ESG integration/engagement within financial services.

They must be able to speak to a strong track record of positive and influential engagement with a variety of business stakeholders and a strong grasp of sustainability innovation and best practice.

  • Strategic thinker with experience identifying, tracking and reporting on ESG data management and KPIs

  • Leadership experience, able to inspire and be passionate about making an impact in the industry

  • Track record of driving sustainability results/impact across an organization
