Acre is working with one of UK's largest banks to help them hire a VP of Sustainability and ESG Reporting. They are a diversified bank with a wide geographical footprint and have been at the forefront of driving the sustainability agenda within the UK banking sector. Reporting into the Head of ESG, this person will be responsible for coordinating the bank's firm-wide external ESG disclosure strategy and execution, advising on the implementation of existing and emerging reporting frameworks, leading engagement with disclosure networks and managing input to public policy and regulatory initiatives on ESG disclosures.

You will be responsible for:

  • Manage overall ESG disclosure approach and delivery, working closely with Finance and other internal teams to provide best-in-class disclosures across core reporting channels including year-end reporting in the Annual Report suite, ESG reporting and additional disclosures

  • Lead on Group and subsidiary ESG disclosure strategy, ensuring overall firm-wide alignment while responding to differing policy and regulatory ESG disclosure requirements

  • Manage and advise on the implementation of current and emerging external entity ESG disclosure frameworks, including guidelines from SASB, PRB, GRI and partner on the TCFD

  • Lead team input for the bank's response to public policy and regulatory initiatives on ESG Disclosures at a firm/entity and product levelssuch as the EU CSRD and SFDR; UK SDR regime; FCA Climate Listing rules and emerging climate guidance from the SEC and other US regulators

  • Provide horizon-scanning and insight on emerging ESG disclosure topics including TNFD and other initiatives,

  • Attend external events/conferences/seminars on sustainability topics relevant to the bank and the individual's role and develop contacts and subject matter expertise as necessary.

  • Manage external stakeholders and engagement with assurance providers and analysts; industry groups; disclosure networks

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in sustainability and ESG reporting and disclosure strategy

  • Experience in sustainability and ESG reporting in financial services organizations, large global organisation or Big 4 will be strongly preferred.

  • Understanding of ESG benchmarks and data requirements for the investor community

  • Understanding of ESG Rating approaches for banks and financial institutions

  • Ability to drive the sustainability agenda with stakeholders across teams
