Acre is working in partnership with a highly regarded impact-focused private markets investment firm, to recruit two Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Specialists for 12 month-long contracts. Our client invests exclusively in emerging markets, especially in Asia and Africa, via private equity, private debt and fund of fund products. Industry sectors include renewable energy and infrastructure, manufacturing, financial services, health and education.

Working with investment and operational colleagues and a supportive team, responsibilities include:
Pre-investment E&S due diligence analysis of pipeline investments and oversight of external consultants
Devising and negotiating E&S action plans
Engaging with portfolio companies and giving technical advice to support ongoing improvement of E&S performance & positive impact optimisation, reporting and policy
Impact measurement, analysis and reporting
We particularly welcome applicants from candidates with experience in social impact or labour / working conditions in relation to private sector investment.
Experience and competencies sought:
E&S due diligence or advisory experience in emerging markets across a range of industry sectors
Experience of applying IFC Performance Standards to investments and transactions
Strong communication, writing and presentation skills
The ability to influence and build relationships
Robust analytical skills with a commercial mindset
