The Responsible Jewellery Council is the standards setting and certification organisation for the jewellery supply chain. With more than 1,000 Member companies and growing rapidly, RJC span the entire jewellery supply chain from mining to retail. The organisation works with businesses of all sizes to instigate step change towards sustainably sourced and produced materials.

Acre is supporting the search for an Assurance Manager. In this role you will be responsible for managing the RJC's assurance workstream with oversight of the of the audit process and Managing the Accreditation and Certification Committee, enabling continuous improvement across human rights, environmental standards and traceability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing the assurance process working closely with the RJC Management Team and reporting to the Standards and Impacts Director

  • Preparing the annual audit consistency report, working with audit firms to determine corrective actions

  • Managing the Accreditation and Certification Committee, setting up meetings, preparing resources and implementing changes to the organisation and composition of the Committee.

  • Liaising with key external stakeholders and accredited audit firms to manage the grievances system in collaboration with the independent expert

  • Working with the wider organisation to feed insights from the assurance process into the certification framework

The successful candidate will play a key role in the supporting the RJC's commitment to continuous improvement, providing a common standard for responsible business practices from mine to retail and improving ethical, social, human rights and environmental conditions.

Experience Required:

  • Experience working at a high level within audit and assurance, focused on environmental and social issues

  • Experience of supply chain initiatives and working with multi-stakeholder committees

  • High proficiency in verbal and written English, with the ability to communicate complex technical terms to a wide variety of audiences

  • A detail oriented, methodical approach supported by a high-level understanding of sustainability issues such as business ethics, environmental impact, labour and working conditions responsible sourcing and human rights

  • Ability to speak French, Italian, and other languages is beneficial
