Join Land Life in its mission to help restore the world's 2 billion hectares of degraded land. Land Life is an international company with a head office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, working towards one main goal - to help restore the world's 2 billion hectares of degraded land by planting the right trees at the right time and in the right place. There is no greater tool than a tree to remove carbon from the atmosphere, revitalize nature and tackle climate change. They are looking for a talented executive-level Australia Director for their rapidly scaling climate impact business.

This role will build and lead the team in Australia and steward Land Life Company's business in the region. Land Life is working with its partner Cassinia Environmental and with the highest levels of the Government of Victoria to restore and protect 20,000 hectares of private land over the next six years. They seek a Director who can both serve as an effective partner on this incredible project and use this momentum to build up their presence in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

This role will manage the operational, commercial, technical and financial aspects of Land Life's Australia business. Within this spectrum, the primary function of the Director will be to establish partnerships (commercial, operational and technical) and lead a happy and effective team to materially scale up Land Life's reforestation projects.

More specifically, the responsibilities of the Director Australia will include but will not be limited to:

  • Translate company strategy into a regional strategy, working with colleagues locally and internationally

  • Ensure there is a healthy pipeline of land to fulfill customer demand and effectively lead scaling up each year

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and with optimal use of technology

  • Raise Land Life's profile, including representing Land Life at events and conferences

  • Manage and build on Land Life's relationships with their key partner Cassinia Environmental

  • Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders in the region, including existing and potential customers, NGOs, government entities, contractors, landowners and other partners

  • Find innovative ways to expand Land Life's work

  • Manage and develop a motivated team who perform at the best of their potential and grow the team to allow for ongoing scaling

  • Manage all elements of Land Life's Australian entity, including payroll, financial administration, and contracting

This role offers the opportunity to grow the existing team of 2 by a further 3 - 8 people over the next 18 months, whilst strengthening Land life's presence in Australia as they are fully committed to restoring large landscapes in the years to come. Key Requirements

  • Extensive relevant work experience, previous roles in scale-ups and sustainability

  • Relevant senior networks with companies, government entities, and NGOs in Victoria and broader Australia

  • In-depth knowledge of nature restoration and/or climate solutions and sustainability

  • Experience managing and implementing large multi-stakeholder projects, including JV's

  • Creative and strategic thinker with experience in responding to fast-changing environments

  • Established experience in leadership roles and ability to gather input needed for well-informed, autonomous decision-making

  • Experience growing, managing and developing teams

  • Strong communicator on all levels and experience with marketing, social media and press

  • Living in or willing to relocate to Southern Victoria
