Biofuels Commercial Manager

Our client is a key player in the energy transition space. Being well known for their expertise and extensive network in the environmental commodities market, they now have the goal to scale-up business in the Biofuels intermediation as well.

Progressive changes in the legislation on GHG emission reduction on sectors like, road transport, shipping and aviation have stimulated producers, traders, and consumers to increase their transactions on Biofuels.

This a great entrepreneurial opportunity for a commercial professional with knowledge and an existing network in the Biofuels value chain and ecosystem.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Key participation in the set-up of the Biofuels desk; legal framework, procedures, and client portfolio creation.

  • Business development and acquisition of new relationships within the European ethanol and biodiesel production and consumption.

  • European Legislation understanding and constant monitoring.

  • Management and cross-selling within of our existing portfolio of players active in the European Green Energy market.

  • Collaboration on the growth and development of the department by coaching and supporting juniors' employees.

  • Closely relationship with product analyst's, back office colleagues and managers to coordinate, drive, and enhance new transactions.

Based in Amsterdam, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an outstanding understanding of the European Biofuels market. Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and strategical thinking and credibility to work with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.

Key Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Sustainability, economics, finance, or such.

  • Demonstrable experience in handling negotiations in the green energy market.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of European Legislation related to Biofuels.

  • Fluent in English and any other European language would be a big plus.

  • Experience in shaping and leading teams.

  • Experience in setting and achieving budgets.

  • Strategical thinking and excellent communication skills.

  • A team player mentality and thrive under pressure.

This person will have the exciting opportunity to develop the Biofuels division at a European level, leveraging strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and managing end to end external partnerships.
