Acre is thrilled to partner with an industry-leading green hydrogen energy business in growing its project development capabilities through this key leadership hire.

This organisation is an innovative group that has developed the most extensive portfolio of projects in the market and is now seeking to materially scale up its capabilities as it moves through the FEED, EPC, and construction stages on its first wave of developments.

With an initial project pipeline under development in excess of £1bn, the organisation is at a critical growth juncture. As such, the development and growth of a best-in-class project development function and group is critical to their forward growth.

About the Role:

As the leader of the group's Project Development function, you will interface between the commercial team, finance team, engineering, and asset operations teams to ensure:

  • projects are being effectively delivered

  • resource needs can be balanced against the company financial needs

  • project development decisions and resources are best aligned to support the strategy of the company

  • the infrastructure of the business is solid

  • key procurement and delivery partnerships are established to sustainably deliver this

Beyond operational responsibilities as the Chief Development Officer, you will be an effective leader to the projects group and a critical interlocutor for the CEO and Investment function.

This is an opportunity to play a critical role in partnership with the executive team, not only in driving the structuring, design, and ongoing progression of projects but in defining the groups' strategy and trajectory.

About You:

As Chief Development Officer, you will play an essential role in ensuring that the group can deploy renewable and green hydrogen infrastructure in time to help sophisticated multinational clients meet their Net Zero objectives.

Some key aspects of your background include:

  • Strong and varied experience in project development across renewable technologies

  • You have taken multiple infrastructure projects from concept through to execution and are familiar with project engineering requirements

  • You have experience working from the owners' side with construction contractors, local stakeholders, and off-takers

  • You have exposure to the negotiation of land contracts, securing grid connections, taking projects through FEED and construction

  • You have the experience and ambition to manage and grow teams

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving the UK's green hydrogen ambitions. If you would like to discuss further, please contact Camilla Lang at camilla.lang@acre.com.
