Are you a Climate specialist looking to join a forward-thinking investment organization with ESG and impact at the core of their vision and a serious commitment to deploying capital to solutions that address the fight against climate change?

We are working with a global operating private investment firm, with an exceptional and progressive ESG & Sustainability agenda in place since 2008.

Committed to the Science Based Target Initiative for over two years, and with over 80% of its products classified as article 8 or 9 as per the European regulation, the firm is currently looking to appoint a Climate Specialist to contribute to the increasing activities related to their progressive Environmental Strategy.

Your Responsibilities:

Based in Paris and working alongside a team made of six (6) ESG & sustainability specialists, you will report to the Head of ESG, and be responsible for:

  • Further develop and implement the group's decarbonization plan in accordance with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) at a fund, and portfolio company level

  • Contribute to the improvement of methods and tools for the effective integration of carbon impact analysis into the portfolio selection and valuation process

  • Active support and participation in the development of new investment products with an environmental outcome focus

  • Review and adapt the exclusion policy to hinder investments in carbon-intensive sectors

  • Develop action plans relating to biodiversity and water management

  • Bring technical expertise and innovative solutions for the implementation of measures to decrease portfolio companies' environmental impact, incl. target setting, identification and assessment of measures, emissions forecasting, and scenario modeling

  • Follow and support overall ESG activities of portfolio companies while taking part in the ESG due diligence activities

  • Represent the company at events and conferences

Your Profile:

  • Over 10 years of experience in environmental/sustainability consulting and carbon assessment and management

  • Academic background in Environmental sciences and/or sustainable development

  • Significant experience in working with senior management teams, advising on core elements of a business' sustainability strategy and performance

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple concurrent projects simultaneously

  • Prior experience in working with investment, private equity, or financial services environments, with knowledge of the macro trends and drivers of sustainability within private equity

  • A proven track record of delivering ESG impact or due diligence assessments

  • Fluent proficiency in English. French will be advantageous
