The Corporate Governance and Stewardship Manager will play a key role in defining and implementing our client's stewardship strategy, which is a central pillar of the Responsible Investment strategy.
As one of the world's largest investment managers, our client understands that with their scale brings responsibility. They play an active role in the companies they invest in, from exercising shareholder voting rights to directly engaging with companies at a board level.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and exciting team as Corporate Governance & Stewardship Manager. You will be liaising with CEOs, Chairmen, policy makers, politicians and regulators on a diverse range of issues that affect the market and the value of our clients' assets in the long term.
You will be shaping the businesses they invest in by protecting, aligning and maximising value for their clients.
Contribute to the definition of their engagement strategy and lead the coordination of the engagement governance and escalation process
Identify ESG factors that are material to short, medium and long-term investment outcomes for engagement across sectors, focusing more particularly on governance.
Lead the definition and implementation of our corporate governance and voting policy across different markets in line with our investment footprint
Engage with the highest levels of policy makers and industry leaders
Manage multiple collaboration projects with other investors or stakeholders
Produce research and thought leadership on key governance topics
Develop internal voting polices in different countries
Produce internal reports and attend board meetings
Lead the efforts to deliver distinctive thematic research on corporate governance issues and stewardship approaches
Coordinate the interactions related to voting activities with key stakeholders such as the Corporate Governance committee, portfolio managers and Group CIO, as well as selected external stakeholders (e.g. clients, media)
Participate in collaborative and industry discussions (CA100+, industry associations) and monitoring corporate governance developments
Skills and experience
Significant experience of corporate governance analysis and proxy voting
A demonstrable level of investment experience and knowledge
Experience of driving investment engagements with senior management teams
Confident presenter, comfortable with presenting at conferences and seminars
Personality to deal with sensitive and contentious decisions with investee companies
European language skills would be a plus
