The Corporate Governance and Stewardship Analyst/Manager will play a key role in defining and implementing our client's stewardship strategy.

​

This individual will primarily be responsible for engagement (i.e. researching and presenting to companies), and taking the lead in such company interactions.

​

They will serve companies across all sectors and industries and across all E-S-G topics.

​

Research/engagement themes will vary greatly and will be defined by the company's corporate governance weaknesses (which this individual will help them to address) or by themes that are selected by their major investors.

​

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition of their engagement strategy and lead the coordination of the engagement governance and escalation process

  • Identify ESG factors that are material to short, medium and long-term investment outcomes for engagement across sectors, focusing more particularly on governance

  • Engage with the highest levels of policy makers and industry leaders

  • Manage multiple collaboration projects with other investors or stakeholders

  • Produce research and thought leadership on key governance topics

  • Produce internal reports and attend board meetings

  • Lead the efforts to deliver distinctive thematic research on corporate governance issues and stewardship approaches

  • Participate in collaborative and industry discussions (CA100+, industry associations) and monitoring corporate governance development

Skills and experience

  • Experience of corporate governance analysis

  • A demonstrable level of investment experience and knowledge

  • Ideally experience of driving investment engagements with senior management teams

  • Confident presenter, comfortable with presenting at conferences and seminars

  • Personality to deal with sensitive and contentious decisions with investee companies

  • European language skills would be a plus
