Asana Partners believes environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance enhances risk-adjusted returns and positively impacts the neighborhoods and communities in which the Company lives and invests. The Director will partner with the Company's cross-functional ESG Committee to execute ESG strategies across an institutional-quality urban mixed-use property portfolio spanning multiple fund vehicles. The Director will drive continuous improvement of the Company's ESG Program, including project management of program initiatives and annual reporting, engaging on all aspects of ESG strategic planning and collaborating with various internal and third-party teams to drive execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive execution of the ESG Strategic Plan through coordination of internal and external resources

  • Monitor ongoing progress against the ESG goals, maintaining an internal scorecard available to members of the executive team and ESG Committee

  • Coordinate the ESG Committee cadence, perpetuating a regular schedule of meetings, setting agendas and coordinating follow-up items

  • Prepare and present quarterly and annual program updates to the Executive Committee and investors

  • Work cross-functionally with leaders of the Asset Management, Investments, Development, IT and HR teams to ensure operational ESG initiatives are underwritten, budgeted, and executed in line with the ESG Strategic Plan

  • Manage the end-to-end process of developing annual sustainability and ESG reports (aligned with TCFD and SASB standards) in partnership with a cross-functional team of stakeholders and consultants, including the processes for collecting, synthesizing and summarizing the content for inclusion in reports, content development, editing, reviews and approvals, data collection, and report design

  • Help lead stakeholder engagement interviews across a variety of functions to source underreported or new ESG performance data and information.

  • Coordinate annual disclosures to GRESB and PRI, with a focus on maximizing and improving annual performance scores

  • Partner with consultative resources to develop and deliver sustainability training to key stakeholders

  • Stay apprised of relevant national and regional regulatory requirements, as well as evolving ESG trends and best practices Requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience with and interest in ESG in a real estate context, including ESG reporting frameworks

  • Desire to serve and grow in a leadership role in Sustainability and ESG, driving execution behind the scenes and communicating ESG strategy and performance both internally and externally

  • Pragmatic partnership-oriented approach in order to drive program success across a range of stakeholders

  • Strong organizational and process skills to navigate multiple competing priorities and team interactions

  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and capable of effective independent judgment

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills

  • Acute attention to detail and passion for quality and excellence

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • 3 or more years experience implementing and managing corporate sustainability programs, ideally in real estate Education Bachelor's Degree required with a preference for individuals with substantial coursework in sustainability, real estate, business, or a related field
