Acre is partnered with a cutting-edge renewable energy power company to identify a Director of Business Development to manage national accounts and maximize all opportunities within those accounts in order to achieve sales goals determined by the management team.

Specifically, the Director of Business Development will generate new leads and leverage existing customer relationships while focusing on the sale of a behind-the-meter offering that includes energy efficiency, energy management, EV charging services, resiliency-as-a-service, utility bill management, and sustainability reporting. Key target segments include retail, automotive, senior living, healthcare, school districts, and universities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Originate new opportunities with customers in target sectors

  • Act as the main point of contact between for customers on a variety of different product offerings

  • Drive growth by originating leads, closing deals, supporting existing clients, formulating sales strategies, and communicating product value to clients

  • Assess needs and present solutions to C-suite prospects that include retail power, demand response, solar, onsite generation, and energy efficiency

  • Negotiate contracts with large customer accounts including resolution of contract issues in collaboration with Legal team

Key Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience selling complex energy solutions to large national accounts

  • Demonstrate ability to negotiate terms and conditions of energy and energy related services contracts

  • In-depth knowledge of the energy industry

  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, analytical, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

  • Ability to think strategically as well as understand the practical, day-to-day implementation requirements for successful customer engagements

  • Ability to resolve conflicts among internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience with MS PowerPoint and Salesforce

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • 7-10 years' experience selling complex energy solutions (e.g., energy efficiency, energy management, solar, demand response, cogeneration, etc.) to large national accounts

  • Retail energy sales experience is a plus

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
