An innovative global asset manager with an established approach to sustainable investment and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) integration, has partnered with Acre to appoint a Director of Corporate Governance. As part of the leadership team's ambitious ESG strategy, this newly created position will lead and support the realisation of greater corporate governance expertise within the investment and ESG team.
The Director of Corporate Governance will lead on developing new strategy for active ownership and enhance the capacity for corporate governance company engagement.
Responsibilities Include:
Strategic oversight of and taking part in,collaborative engagements with companies on corporate governance issues
Reviewing and improving policies, procedures and guidelines on corporate engagement and proxy voting
Overseeing the exercise of proxy voting rights and working closely with investment teams to reach a consensus on specific resolutions when needed
Leading the relationship with external providers on corporate governance data and proxy voting
Contributing to internal and external reporting on active ownership activities
Participating in conferences, industry associations and working groups
Required:
Solid experience of corporate governance and company engagement
Knowledge of corporate governance and stewardship codes in different geographies
Ability to build a constructive dialogue and forge long-term relationships with senior executives, board members and investment professionals
Fluency in English. Highly advantageous is a second language such as French or German
