Acre has partnered with a high-growth leading global player at the forefront of the voluntary carbon markets to appoint a Director of Global Sourcing.

With a deep global track record in the space spanning over 20 years, our client has developed a strong and authentic brand associated with high integrity and quality by project partners and corporate clients alike.

As unprecedented growth in voluntary markets has led to significant changes in market dynamics, this Director of Global Sourcing will drive forward-thinking supply side sourcing strategies and secure verified, high-quality emissions reduction to meet short- and mid-term demand.

They will serve on the company's leadership team, working with senior leaders in the business to determine the direction of project development, utilizing their deep knowledge of carbon markets to assess future trends in Supply; managing relationships with the 600+ current project partners, and developing new partnerships.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing relationships and maximising value with global project partners that provide the company with 'sourced' carbon credits i.e., existing projects that are already producing verified emission reductions for voluntary and, potentially, compliance markets

  • Developing new project partnerships to meet current and future demand

  • Defining a distinctive commercial partnership proposition that attracts new project partnerships in a rapidly growing and increasingly competitive market

  • Developing new capabilities that enable us to compete in the more commoditised section of the market

  • Working with the Global Director of Project Development to ensure effective and productive interface between the company and the project development marketplace and the standards, and effective knowledge sharing.

  • Working with Global Head of Project Development to define direction and goals for longer term project development i.e., investment in early-stage projects prior to them producing carbon credits

  • Serving as part of the global leadership team that sets strategic direction and manages organisational performance

  • Acting as an external spokesperson on Sourcing

Key capabilities include:

  • Proven senior experience of global sourcing in the Carbon Markets

  • Experience of developing sourcing strategies and leading the execution of plans

  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of experienced professionals

  • Experience and/or ability to be part of senior leadership team and strong team player

  • Stakeholder management, both internally and externally

  • Excellent networker

  • Commercially and financially astute
