The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) is a collaborative, global, multi-stakeholder non-profit alliance for the fashion industry. It is made up of over 208+ leading apparel, footwear, and textile brands, retailers, suppliers, service providers, trade associations, non-profits, NGOs, and academic institutions working to reduce environmental impact and promote social justice throughout the global value chain.

SAC's vision is of a global consumer goods industry that gives more than it takes - to the planet and its people. Now in a phase of growth and tackling crucial topics, SAC is seeking a Director of Member Engagement to join their global team.

As the Director of Member Engagement, you will be reporting directly to the Senior Director of Membership. The Director will lead the Member Engagement agenda, overseeing all aspects of the management of the team, delivering enhanced member engagement and increased member satisfaction.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Developing and supporting the implementation of the organisation's member engagement strategy alongside the Senior Director of Membership.

  • Championing the continuous improvement of engagement services, protocols and processes to accelerate impact (e.g. community events, collective action, value proposition, member journey, new member onboarding, feedback loops).

  • Acting as the core channel and link between members and SAC functions to ensure that member insights are shared, and their needs are met consistently throughout the organisation.

  • Overseeing the management of membership accounts to enhance long-term relationships and ensure overall satisfaction for both new and existing members.

  • Managing a team of 8 high achieving member engagement professionals across the globe, ensuring consistent service, value proposition, and results across the organisation.

  • Ensuring the successful delivery of the SAC's membership requirements program, playing a central role in generating and sharing data and insights which monitor progress and enable improvements.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Significant experience and accomplishments in customer-facing roles/organisations such as membership, account management or business development.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the apparel/footwear/textile industry.

  • Team management experience, and experience working collaboratively as part of a global, multicultural organisation.

  • Socially confident with exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. English is required; additional language is a plus.

Confident that you can add value but not 100% sure you 'tick every box'? There is no such thing as the perfect candidate. The SAC prides itself on growing the team with diverse professionals. So, however you identify, and whatever experience you have, please apply if this is a role that excites you.
