Acre is excited to be partnered with a globally recognised, Fortune 500 manufacturing business to identify an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to be based in Harlow. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on all EHS matters and driving performance across a large, complex manufacturing plant that is vital to the organisation's European presence.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring that legal and corporate compliance EHS issues within the facility are resolved
Developing and maintaining good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Identifying and implementing programmes to improve EHS improvements which will improve wider business efficiency and performance
Offering expert EHS leadership and advice, guidance and support to all operatives within the facility
Ensuring that the EHS Management System meets all local and corporate requirements
Acting as a mentor to all direct and functional reports, including developing EHS training programmes
This person must be an experienced EHS professional with a background in a heavy manufacturing, chemical or engineering environment. The successful candidate will also be driven, with a passion for EHS matters and an eagerness to learn and develop.
They will also have:
GradIOSH status as a minimum, ideally Chartered status
NEBOSH or NCRQ Diploma
Environmental qualification or professional membership of a recognised environmental body
Excellent communication and engagement skills
A proven ability to influence upwards in order to promote a positive safety culture
