Are you motivated to leave the right social, environmental, and economic legacy? Can you use your experience to help the construction sector meet its climate ambitions?

Willmott Dixon is one of the UK's largest independent construction and property services companies. Sustainability and social value have been at the heart of the business over the last 170 years and with their new sector-leading sustainability strategy, 'Now or Never', there is no better time to make an impact.

This is an exciting time for Willmott Dixon as they look to appoint a pioneering Embodied Carbon Lead. Working within its Construction business and in close collaboration with the Group Sustainability team, you will play a key role in evolving and implementing the company's approach to reducing embodied carbon for its customers.

As the Embodied Carbon Lead, you will:

  • Act as the technical expert on life cycle carbon and embodied carbon assessment and reduction.

  • Undertake embodied and lifecycle carbon assessments on projects.

  • Work with project teams to identify and implement the most efficient and effective solutions to reduce carbon and deliver the best customer outcomes.

  • Provide support to Willmott Dixon's customers on refurbishment and new build projects, as well as advising on strategic approaches appropriate for larger pipelines of future works.

  • Collaborate with Willmott Dixon's Group Sustainability and Decarbonisation Service teams to enhance their customer offering.

  • Increase the teams' skills, knowledge, and capability by delivering training advice, tools, and support.

  • Embed changes to operations, systems, and processes to deliver the strategy and to ensure legislative compliance.

  • Use your leadership skills to influence, engage and effect change at all levels throughout the organisation and its supply chain.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Significant experience and knowledge of lifecycle and embodied carbon assessment and reduction in the built environment.

  • Practical experience of using LCA software tools.

  • Strong analytical and technical skills.

  • The necessary non-technical and leadership skills to deliver cultural and behavioural change programmes.

  • Great communication skills and an ability to explain the complex in a simple way.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities with both efficiency and autonomy.

In return for your skills and experience, you will be met with a competitive salary, a motoring expenditure allowance, and a discretionary bonus.

This role will see you working across multimillion pound projects as well as having the opportunity to work alongside Wilmott Dixon's new integrated construction business.

This is truly the chance to be an influential member of a nationally recognised organisation committed to sustainability and a key member of a team delivering ambitious targets.
