Acre has been engaged by a leading FTSE 100 European Real Estate business to identify their new Environment & Energy Manager. Our client manages some of the most exciting retail destinations in Europe and has been in business for more than 50 years. This role is essential to the continued success and development of their award-winning sustainability programme.

This is a senior role, reporting to the Group Head of Sustainability. The role includes environmental compliance and reporting, supporting delivery of their corporate sustainability targets and working with their on-site teams to ensure the delivery of a range of sustainability projects at group and asset level.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the Group Head of Sustainability to set the sustainability strategy for the group

  • Setting asset and portfolio-level sustainability targets for the UK and Irish Retail Portfolios

  • Supporting the team in France in setting their sustainability targets

  • Working with the General Managers to ensure asset-level sustainability initiatives are being delivered on time

  • Working with Sustainability Data Analyst to ensure energy, water and waste data capture/reporting processes are effective and environmental management information is up to date and accurate for key internal and external reporting as required.

  • Overseeing the maintenance of ISO140001 and ISO 50001 accreditations for Energy and Environmental Management Systems (EEMS) across the UK and Ireland Portfolio in accordance with company objectives.

The successful individual will require an assertive but engaging personality, excellent communication skills and a broad appreciation of the challenges of working across a large and complex property portfolio.

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree-level qualification in Energy Management/Sustainability or equivalent

  • Good understanding of sustainability management in properties

  • Experience of environmental & carbon emissions reporting

  • Ability to work as self-starter and drive corporate agenda

  • An understanding of Building Management Systems

  • Ability to work with key stakeholders including retailers, contractors and suppliers
