Acre is supporting a leading international infrastructure group to identify an Environment and Sustainability Manager who will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the environment and sustainability requirements, continual improvement and best practice for their responsible contracts and projects.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Leading and driving sustainability initiatives, requirements, and compliance.

  • Ensuring the sustainability implementation plan remains up to date.

  • Driving continual improvements such as through supply chain engagement, energy audits, sustainability trials.

  • Support winning business teams with environment and sustainability, including social value, responses for bids and PQQs.

  • Carrying out investigations on environmental incidents and feedback any lessons learned.

  • Inducting staff on sustainability requirements and attending regular sustainability meetings.

  • Updating customers on sustainability commitments and developing communication materials.

You will have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or an Environmental topic.

  • Practical experience of Environmental Management and/or Sustainability in Construction.

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.

  • Understanding of UK policy, environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.

  • Practical experience of project Environmental, Sustainability and Social Value risks and opportunities and how they practically impact on the built environment.

  • Experience within waste and energy management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
