Acre is supporting one of the UK's best-known logistics companies to identify an Environment Lead who will be responsible for the delivery and deployment of Environment strategy and supporting programmes. You will be reporting to the Head of CR and be managing a senior environment manager providing them with strong leadership, clarity, advice, support and guidance whilst ensuring the business delivers its environmental commitments and ambitions.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Driving the delivery of the environment strategy through collaboration with key internal stakeholders and functions across the business.

  • Preparing, inputting and presenting papers to the CR Committee on environmental topics, and engaging with the Committee Chair, and other CRC members to ensure ongoing awareness of progress and plans.

  • Chairing the Environment Governance Board, ensuring cross functional focus on the delivery of the environment strategy.

  • Ensuring there is a clear understanding of the environment and climate related risks and opportunities across the business, delivering and implementing plans to manage and mitigate risk, and that opportunities are explored and realized where possible.

  • Delivering environment content for annual reporting and benchmarking i.e CDP, DJSI.

You will have:​

  • Strong experience and understanding of the environment, including climate change, waste and water.

  • In-depth understanding of current and upcoming environmental compliance/requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Engineering/Property/Safety/Environmental Degree.

  • Qualification/training in ISO 14001.
