Our client, a global insurer, is looking to hire a new Sustainability Manager for a growing Responsible Business & Environment Team.

To achieve their goal, they have made a number of significant hires to support actioning their sustainability strategy, offering you the opportunity to work alongside other sustainability and financial services experts.

​The business has a collaborative and inclusive working culture; they offer excellent training and development programmes, as well as flexible working (no set days in the office).

You will be an experienced environmental sustainability expert with experience in financial services or consultancy. You will be able to apply your knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance their objectives, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and ask questions to encourage others to think differently.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the development of initiatives that contribute to the Group's transition strategy to be net-zero by 2050

  • Provide technical support to the wider Group on climate change and the preservation of natural capital/biodiversity

  • Support the development of their environmental sustainability policy and internal frameworks through analytical analysis, external benchmarking

  • Collaborating across groups to develop their approach to decarbonisation strategy

  • You will be able to carry out external scanning of emerging themes and regulatory developments with regard to sustainability and align with the clients

Experience:

  • An experienced environmental specialist from a similar organisation with tangible experience in embedding a strategy

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of climate change and green finance

  • Experience in developing and delivering communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences

  • Demonstrable experience in effectively building formal and informal relationships inside and outside the organisation

  • Proven record of problem-solving, being able to make sense of complex information to effectively solve problems, asking questions to encourage others to think differently
