Our client is a top 25 investment management group with fund management teams in Europe, North America and Asia. They have established a strong core responsible investment capability and leading industry position through a strong global ESG team tasked with delivering and evolving ESG research, integration and engagement services.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong quantitative skills and a passion for sustainable investment to fulfil the role of ESG Analyst in Canada.

As a key member of this growing Global ESG group, you will:

  • engage closely with investment teams in deepening institutional ESG fluency and integration

  • produce and disseminate research on ESG risks and opportunities across both FI and Eq products

  • partner more broadly with investment teams, sales and marketing on engagement strategy & upcoming thematic fund development and launches.

  • represent the group at Responsible Investment and industry events

  • assist in the developing of strong publications and thought leadership pieces.

The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative analysis/core investment skills, a deep understanding of the relevance of ESG issues and strong track record of translating corporate governance, environmental and social issues and impacts affecting equities and fixed income investments.

However strong investment analysts with some exposure to ESG and an interest and deep commitment to pursuing this career path are welcome to apply, as this team and Director and well positioned to help upskill a high potential analyst.

Additional Experience Sought:

  • Comprehensive understanding of asset management and financial markets.

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional work experience within an investment manager.

  • Ability to work independently to complete due diligence on issuers of equities and bonds

  • Quantitative analysis and data mining skills

  • Willingness to travel, particularly between the Quebec and Toronto regions to support growing mandates and demand

  • Spoken and written fluency in English and French is essential
