We are working with an innovative infrastructure investor who is hiring an ESG Analyst/Associate for its investment team in Luxembourg. Working closely with the ESG Coordinator, the candidate will participate in integrating ESG throughout the life cycle of the investments and in the activities of the firm. The successful candidate will have strong analytical, entrepreneurial and engagement skills and be willing to contribute actively and pragmatically to sustainable investing.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Investment Committee offering ESG assessments of all investment opportunities with a focus on DD (ESG and otherwise), investment memos/modelling and additional research.

  • Participate in the improvement, review, and update of the ESG action plans for all portfolio companies liaising with the rest of the investment team and with the management teams. Identify/monitor actionable and material initiatives and assist in their implementation. Foster best practice sharing.

  • Assist the Risk Management team in the evaluation and incorporation of sustainability risks.

  • Help ensure compliance with the ESG procedures and participate in their evolutions (new funds, new regulations, best practices, etc.).

  • Organize, contribute, and enhance the ESG reporting (Annual ESG Reports, UN PRI report, GRESB Infrastructure, ad hoc reports for investors, etc.)

  • Participate in the internal activities (trainings, etc.) and external activities (ESG workgroups to which the firm participates, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of the main Environment, Social and Governance considerations (notably technical climate-related issues) is necessary.

  • Excellent analytical skills and good financial modelling skills are necessary.

  • Fluency in English is required, with compelling writing skills and excellent communication/engagement skills.

  • Autonomy, learning capabilities, ability to take long term views and strong ethics are important for the role.

  • Familiarity with the UN PRI, the TCFD, the GRESB and the taxonomy (or SBTi, GRI, SASB, etc.) is a strong plus.

  • Prior work experience in a similar position in a financial institution or in an ESG consultancy role is a strong plus.

  • Prior experience in infrastructure is a plus.

  • Prior involvement in research works or in non-profit E or S related initiatives is a plus.

  • Fluency in another European language (notably French) is a plus.

  • Outstanding academic records from a leading Finance, Business and/or Science/Engineering program.
